SUMMARY:15th WCM Summer School on Maintenance Management & Engineering

SUMMARY:Final Presentation WCM Summer School 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 15th WCM Summer School 2026 on Maintenance Management & Engineering will be held in the fourth week of August (24th-28th of August 2026)\, on the educational facilities of the Royal Netherlands Army in Den Helder. \nOver a week\, participants will be presented with the very latest maintenance knowledge by professors from various Dutch universities and will think in groups about a real practical case\, this year brought in by Royal Netherlands Navy. \nCase Royal Netherlands Navy\nThe Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN) aims to take new ships into service\, including new anti-submarine warfare frigates (ASWF)\, submarines\, and various auxiliary vessels. \nA continuous pressure to reduce ship crews and an increasing complexity of systems on board naval vessels puts pressure on the maintenance of these future ships. \nThe RNLN is working towards a transition from planned periodic maintenance to condition-based maintenance (CBM) and predictive maintenance. \nThe main question for you as a participant during the Summer School is to think about how RNLN together with her stakeholders in the public sector can use some of the available maintenance innovations for this maintenance transition. \nFinal Presentation\nOn Friday\, the various solutions will be presented and votes of the public and the jury will determine which team has the best solution. \nWe cordially invite you to attend this final presentation – English spoken – in Den Helder\, each year full of fresh insights. The maximum number of people is limited so register quickly. \nOptional Morning Program: Visit to the Marinemuseum \n\nParticipants attending the Final Presentation of the WCM Summer School 2026 have the opportunity to visit the Marinemuseum in Den Helder in the morning prior to the event. \nIf you would like to join this optional visit\, please indicate your interest by selecting this option on the registration form. \nThis visit offers a unique opportunity to explore the rich maritime history of the Netherlands and discover the heritage of the Royal Netherlands Navy before the afternoon program begins. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram\n\n\n\n\n\n12:00 – 13:00\nReception guests with lunch and information market\n\n\n13:00 – 13:05\nWelcome by Jacob Derks (project leader World Class Maintenance)\n\n\n13:05 – 13:15\nMaintenance – Innovation at WCM – Prof. Henk Akkermans\, Director World Class Maintenance\n\n\n13:15 – 13:35\nKTZ (TD) ir.
