HZ University of Applied Sciences and Scalda are organizing the congress ‘Integrating offshore wind’ on Friday, November 3.

Offshore wind is an economically attractive technology for achieving climate goals with geopolitical independence as a bonus for nations close to open sea. Offshore wind project developers and large ports, like North Sea Port, rise to challenges ahead, with the Netherlands aiming for 70GW of offshore wind power.

Questions

However, scaling up offshore wind power poses questions. How do we integrate future offshore wind power in the existing situation? How can we fit the electricity into the existing energy system and is there a role for industry and the industrial demand for hydrogen in Zeeland and Flanders? What is the impact on ecology? How does offshore wind power fit into the labour market and what is the role of standardized vocational training?

Time and location

The congress ‘Integrating offshore wind’ broadly addresses a number of questions. The day starts at 9.50 a.m. at the HZ location at Edisonweg 4 in Vlissingen. After lunch between 12.00 and 13.00, the second part will take place at Scalda, also on the Edisonweg in Vlissingen. This program will last until 2.30 p.m. To sign up click on the button below.
