The fourteenth edition of this year’s WCM Summer School will take place from Monday 21 July to Friday 25 July and will once again be organised at the Base (“Legerplaats bij Oldebroek”) at ‘t Harde.
Over a week, participants will be presented with the very latest maintenance knowledge by professors from various Dutch universities and will think in groups about a real practical case, this year brought in by KNWE/Brainport Industries.
Case high-tech remanufacturing with KMWE / Brainport industries
The high-tech industry faces challenges related to sustainability, resource scarcity, and efficient material usage. Remanufacturing—restoring used or obsolete high-tech products and parts —offers a strategic asset management solution.
A centralized remanufacturing center integrating various material flows (e.g., electronics, metals, plastics) can create value, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
The main question for the participants during the Summer School is to think about how KMWE / Brainport industries together with her stakeholders in the high-tech industry can use some of the available maintenance innovations for an innovative business case that:
- Integrates diverse material streams.
- Optimizes technological and logistical processes for efficiency and profitability.
- Contributes to a circular economy within the high-tech sector.
- Offers competitive advantages in sustainability and innovation.
Final Presentation
On Friday, the various solutions will be presented and votes of the public and the jury will determine which team has the best solution.
We cordially invite you to attend this final presentation – English spoken – in Oldenbroek, each year full of fresh insights. The maximum number of people is limited so register quickly.
