Most companies records data from SCADA, control systems, PLC, computing systems and management systems. This data is seldom used for maintenance purposes.

In the context of their involvement with World Class Maintenance in the Netherlands, IMS implemented predictive models with the help of this data. The predictive models can predict future problems and malfunctions of the equipment prior to the occurrence, give the maintenance manager an indication of the problems and better control of the planned maintenance and the avoidance of unscheduled downtime.

Our integrated maintenance management solution (IMMS) can then be used to manage the maintenance activities. Spare parts can be obtained in advance, which reduces downtime to a minimum, especially if a part has a long lead time.

Technologische Innovatie

The predictive models analyze the data to identify problems with the following:

  • Bearings and couplings
  • Electric motors and gearboxes
  • Sensor problems
  • Wrong alignment of equipment
  • Wear and Tear
  • Status of components, for example roll roundness and operational condition
  • Evaluation of operational plant parameters to determine abnormal behavior due to maintenance requirements.
  • Failure modes and speed of deterioration of structural components
  • Plant renovation

Partnerships for this innovation:

  • Fujifilm – Filanet – Maestrotech – KEC – ROC Tilburg and Avans.
  • New partnership with Samure.

Education and training:

  • Fieldlab2 in Rijen and RDM Bio Dieselplant in Rotterdam.
  • Experiments in Fieldlab Rijen: Student Training in Asset and Maintenance Management.

Pilots:

  • Predictive maintenance using existing plant SCADA data at Fujifilm
  • Asset Management integrated with predictive models Maintenance Dashboards

Aanbieder

IMS International BV

IMS International was established in 2013 and provides specialist engineering and software solutions in Asset and Maintenance Management.
Currently IMS solutions are used to manage 1.5M assets containing 30M maintenance tasks. Asset Management further includes the Financial, Spatial and Technical Asset management.
IMS design innovative technology solutions to provide benefit in the
development of predictive and engineering models integrated with the Asset Management Solutions

Business case

The Campione program ensure that the following technologies were enhanced in IMS providing an competative edge in IMS in the following technologies:

  • Big data analysis
  • Predictive models
  • Trigger models
  • Zero Surpizes
  • Asset and Maintenance management for the future
  • Digital transformation
  • Smart Industry
  • Digital maintenance training.
  • Condition Based Measurement (CBM)

The results proved that it is possible to utilise the plants SCADA and other existing data to perform preditions in the following areas:

  • Gearboxes
  • Bearings
  • Rolling elements in term of deformation, wear and tear
  • Electric Motors
  • Couplings
  • Pumps

This provide an extensive predictive technologies that can be marketed to all industry containing any of these
element on their plants.

Market potential

IMS and Fujifilm is currently in discussion on the commercialisation of the technologies developed on the Campione program in the Fujiflm Living Lab. Fujifilm is reviewing the saving potential of the technology on the plant. A Dashbaord PC display will be set up on the plant to show roller statuses constantly. The IMMS maintenance manamgent solution will be incorporated as plant maintenance system.

Direct marketing

The technology can be offered to any production plant utilising roller and roller assemblies. This include paper mills, packing plants, moving product processing plants.

Secondary marketing

The technology can be offered to any production plant containing gearboxes, electric motors, pumps, couplings, etc.
